DHI Hair Transplant
A permanent end to hair loss — your own follicles, placed one by one for a natural hairline, real density and minimal scarring.

Overview
Hair loss rarely happens all at once. It creeps — a hairline that quietly steps back, a crown that thins under bright light, a part that widens year on year. By the time most men decide to act, they have already spent a long time covering it up. DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is the modern answer: a permanent restoration that uses your own healthy follicles to rebuild the hairline and density you have been missing.
DHI works by harvesting healthy follicles from your donor area — the band at the back and sides that is genetically resistant to balding — and implanting them precisely into thinning or bald areas with a specialised implantation pen. There is no linear incision and no stitches. That means minimal scarring, reduced downtime and a smoother recovery than older transplant methods. Because the follicles are your own, the result is permanent and grows, washes and styles like the hair it replaces.
At MENHANCE, every transplant is planned around your face, not a template. We design the hairline, density and graft count to suit your features and the way your hair naturally falls, then place each follicle at the correct angle and direction so the result looks like it was always yours. We offer both shaven and non-shaven DHI, for men and women, so your treatment fits your lifestyle and how quickly you want to return to normal.

- A natural hairline, designed to suit your face and the way your hair falls
- Higher follicle survival and greater, more even density
- No linear incision and no stitches, so scarring is minimal

How it works
DHI moves your own permanent follicles from the dense donor area to where they're thinning — placed one by one with an implantation pen for a natural angle and density.
Inside a DHI hair transplant
From hairline design to graft-by-graft implantation, by a surgeon with 1,000+ cases trained in Turkey and Korea — most men are back to work in a day or two.
- A natural hairline, designed to suit your face and the way your hair falls
- Higher follicle survival and greater, more even density
- Faster recovery and reduced downtime versus traditional methods
The procedure, step by step
- Consultation & designWe assess your loss pattern, scalp and donor area, then design the hairline, density and graft count around your features.
- Donor preparationThe donor area is trimmed as needed and numbed with local anaesthetic, so the procedure stays comfortable throughout.
- ExtractionIndividual follicles are harvested one by one with micro-tools, handled carefully to preserve their viability.
- Direct implantationEach follicle is placed with an implantation pen at the correct angle, depth and direction for a natural, even result.
- RegrowthThe implanted follicles settle, then begin to grow — with meaningful change from a few months and full results in 9–12 months.

Travelling to Thailand for your hair transplant

To make everything run smoothly, we usually hold an online consultation before you travel. The doctor reviews your medical history, hair-loss pattern and donor hair availability, so we can plan your surgery in advance and perform it efficiently once you arrive.

Frequently asked questions
Does DHI leave visible scars?
No linear incision is made, so there's typically no visible scarring — only tiny puncture sites that heal quickly and are virtually undetectable, even with short hair.
What's recovery like?
Most patients resume normal activities within a few days. Mild redness, swelling or scabbing usually settles within about 7–10 days. We'll give you clear aftercare guidance to protect your new grafts.
When will I see results?
Some change is visible early, significant growth appears after a few months, and full results arrive around 9–12 months once the new hair has matured and thickened.
Is the result really permanent?
Yes. Donor follicles are genetically resistant to balding, so once they take in the new area they keep growing for the long term and can be washed, cut and styled like the rest of your hair.
Do I have to shave my head?
Not necessarily. We offer both shaven and non-shaven DHI, so we can often work without a full shave depending on your loss pattern and graft count. We'll advise the best approach at your consultation.
Is DHI suitable for me?
It's suitable for most people with hair loss or thinning, including male pattern baldness, provided you have a healthy donor area. Final candidacy and graft count are confirmed at your consultation.
When can I fly home, and is there any downtime?
You can fly home from Day 2, after your second session. There's no need to take time off work, and no restriction on sexual activity — most men return to their normal routine straight away.
Can I drink alcohol, and how should I comb my hair?
You can drink alcohol straight away. For the first two weeks, use a wide-tooth comb on the grafted area and only enough to style your hair; after two weeks you can comb as normal. Around this time you may notice shock loss — a temporary shedding of the transplanted hairs that is a normal part of the process before your new growth comes through.
When are my follow-up appointments?
Our customer-service team checks in at 2 weeks (graft check), 3 months (growth progress) and 6–12 months (final result review). Full growth comes through over 9–12 months.
